Hope Scholarship

Unbeknownst to some, gambling, in itself, is not always a bad thing.  Many forms of gambling benefit our quality of life while providing entertainment, government funding, scholarships, and jobs among other things.  The HOPE (Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally) Scholarship is one such benefit that stems from gambling.  While the scholarship is a gift from the state to future college students it is not given without merit.  Students need to have at least a 21 on their ACT or a cumulative 3.0 GPA for entering freshmen from eligible public or category 1, 2, or 3 private schools.
